wood burning thermo-stoves technology: FUNCTIONING

FUNCTIONING LAYOUT

(A) Primary combustion air inlet

(B) Secondary combustion air inlet

(C) Secondary air adjustment lever

(D) System return water inlet

(E) Hot water flow

(F) Combustion product outlet

(G) Ash drawer

(H) Coil for heat discharge

(safety device against over-heating of the water in the exchanger)

FUNCTIONING PRINCIPLE

The thermo-stove is designed to produce hot water to send the heating and domestic hot water systems circuit.
The combustion products produced by the wood in the firebox, pass over a shell and tube, thus heating the water they contain before reaching the flue (system recirculation).
As well as heating the water, part of the heat produced by combustion is introduced into the room by irradiation through the ceramic glass closing the firebox opening.

REGULATION OF THE PRIMARY COMBUSTION AIR

Regulation is obtained by a heat regulator with thermometer. By using the relative knob to set the desired temperature for the water circulating, as a consequence the heat regulator automatically adjusts the amount of air that enters the firebox, in order to manage combustion in a way to obtain the set water temperature.

AUTOMATIC COMBUSTION PRODUCT BY-PASS

In the ignition phase, with door open, in order to make the start of combustion easier, the combustion product gate valve stays in the open position in a way hat the products can reach the flue easily and directly.
When combustion is well underway, by closing the door the gate valve also closes automatically.
In this set-up, before reaching the flue the combustion products must deviate in a way to flow over and give up heat to the gap and the heat exchanger pipes.

SECONDARY COMBUSTION AIR

The amount of secondary air introduced into the firebox is pre-calibrated. The secondary air enters the firebox through slots located on the upper cross-member on the door.
As well as passing over the glass, keeping it clean, the secondary air allows to re-ignite the unburned residues, thus reducing the emissions into the atmosphere.

FIREBOX DOOR

It is realised with a cast iron structure and 800°C heat shock proof ceramic glass
